Coral Lynn's Already 20 Months old

Hello everyone,

Sorry it has been awhile since I have update the journal. We are doing well. Mike is healthy once again. The doctors have finally found the source of his GI issue. A meckel diberticulum (in other words a birth defect that was fixed by removal during an emergency surgery). He is healthy now and doing very well. Coral is walking and running all over the house. We have taken her camping and almost all of her teeth are in except for the 4 I-teeth. She had 4 molars come in while daddy was in the hospital. She has at times been the daycare's Dracula biting other children and being naughty to other girls. She is better lately and has been playing very nicely with others. We are heading up to Portland this weekend to see if it is a place we want to live. It will be our first vacation traveling by airplane since Coral has learned to walk/run. We were supposed to travel to Hawaii in April, but thanks to ATA's bankruptcy, we have had to reschedule our vacations.
The photos taken are from a Mother's Day luau we had at our house and a camping trip up in Payson. Coral is turning into a cute little girl. She is our little "tree hugger". We hope you enjoy the photos.

Happy New Year's 2008 !!!

Sorry I haven't updated this site in awhile. I have been busy with cloth diapers and enjoying the holidays. We hope everyone out there has had a very safe and happy holiday season. We had a great Christmas. We are getting used to new family customs and are thoroughly enjoying our toddler and her exploration with everything.
Coral had a fun Christmas, she even helped us open 2 of her Christmas presents. She loves the pots & pans and putting anything into or out of cupboards, drawers, boxes etc.... She even loves putting herself into boxes. (See attached photo.)

We are seeing the world in a whole different way and so is Coral. (See other photo) She is having fun with anything and everything. It is amazing how wonderful and loving the world can be if we look at it through the eyes of a toddler.

We hope you all have a very insightful and prosperous new year.

Fall of 2007

Coral turned 1 on October 6th. We took her for her 1 year old photograph. She is so much fun now. She loves to clap and stand/walk on her own. She could walk all over by herself, but she doesn't have the confidence yet and prefers crawling long distances. She'll pull herself up to a stand and then walk a few feet without assistance. She has walked 15-20 steps on her own, but only if we are walking beside her ready to catch her if she falls.
We had an exciting September. Coral swallowed a staple 2 weeks prior to her birthday. We had to get an x-ray taken to find out if it passed the esophagus. It had, so we had to then make sure it passed the rest of her body. Three poopy diapers later, we found "our prize". The staple was open and we were very lucky it didn't do any damage.
Coral's hair is getting so long. She is turning into quite an independent toddler. She is pretty easy going, but can be pretty stuborn when she makes up her mind to do something.
I wonder whom she takes after?

This is our family photo we will be hanging up in our house. It shows how we love to have fun and want to spend quality time together. We are very blessed to have each other. We love you all and hope everyone else is doing well too. We'll be sending out Holiday letters that tell a whole lot more of our yearly events. Once we get them written, we'll post that as well.

Take care and have a very Happy Holiday Season.

1st Family Vacation- Playa del Carmen June 2007

Here are some photographs of our first family vacation. Mike, Mindy and Coral traveled with Max and Angie. We flew to Cancun, Mexico with a lay-over in Mexico City. We left for the Grand Mayan resort for a week from June2-9. The resort was just north of Playa del Carmen and south of Cancun. It was beautiful and quiet. It was hot and humid which helped Coral's bronchitus but gave her really bad diaper rash and prickly heat. There was hardly any bugs due to the resort spraying every night.

Mike, Max and Mindy scuba dove a few days. We dove the tortuga reef and other reef locations as well as a couple cenotas (fresh/salt water caverns). Angie was a sweetheart and watched Coral for 2-dive days so Mindy could dive. Coral loved spending time with Angie. We also shopped Playa del Carmen and Wal-Mart for food and baby items. Mike and Mindy kept to the hotel room most nights to put Coral to bed while Max and Angie enjoyed going out to dinner. Mike, Mindy and Coral did take off one of the last days to the Archeological site of Tulum. It was very hot and humid and ended up leaving early to cool off. We also, visited Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville restaurant in Cancun. We celebrated Max's birthday and Coral's 8-month birthday. Coral loved the shark and volcano. She even got her own fin balloon hat.

We hope you enjoy the pictures of our first vacation.
